This year ES are entering a team into the PDG (Patrouille Des Glaciers). It’s a ski mountaineering race from Zermatt to Verbier. In this video we meet the team.
ES Zermatt has a new home
From this winter onwards you will find European Snowsport in Glacier Sport, 19 Bahnhofstrasse, right in the middle of Zermatt’s high street, opposite the Walliserhof and Pollux hotels.
We are delighted to be working with one of Zermatt’s most established and reputable sports shops. Our aim is to forge a working relationship that will help us both to provide an outstanding service to our clients.
We are excited to be working with the team there, run by Sebastian and Sandra and look forward to a fruitful business relationship and a long friendship between us.

Rowena Phillips Joins ES Zermatt
European Snowsport is very pleased to announce that Rowena Phillips will be joining the managment team in Zermatt this coming winter. Rowena will be joining in the position of Ski School Manager. She brings great experience and skills to the role and we look forward to building on the successes of the last few seasons. Below Rowena speaks to europeansnowsport.com about her new role and the coming winter.
Q/ What was your background before ES?
A/ I worked in consultancy firms in London for a total of 10 years before starting ski seasons but having been on the slopes since my 3rd birthday I was keen to spend more time in the Alps. One season is never enough and before I knew it I had completed 8 fantastic seasons in Zermatt and finished both my BASI ISTD and Swiss patente.
Q/ Why did you decide to join ES?
A/ European Snowsport has moved from strength to strength in the last few years and with an established and enthusiastic team it felt like the obvious move for me. I look forward to taking ES to the next level.
Q/ What plans do you have for ES?
A/ I hope to build on the existing excellent reputation of ES by training and motivating staff, constantly looking for new ways to build our customer base and ensuring we provide the best all-round service to our clients. I want us to be the best school in the Alps, both for instructors and clients!
Q/ What do you think of the team at ES?
A/ The team has an excellent array of skills and experience, not just in skiing, but also in languages, personal skills and the ability to atune lessons exactly to the learner’s requirements. I look forward to working with all of them very much.
