Even though she was born in Cannes on the French Riviera Aurelie started skiing at 2 and snowboarding at 8. At 14 her love of the mountain was so strong she only dreamt of being a pro rider. At 18 she moved to the Mecque and starts racing for chamonix snowboard club, then got sponsored, traveled the Alps, Canada, Argentina, New Zealand …either for competing or shooting videos. When she retired in order to stay close to her passion she decided to transmit her love of the mountain and her knowledge through teaching.

What do you do in the summers?

I am a sailor and yacht chef!

 

Beth started working as a ski instructor in 2018 and after a short hiatus to study, is now back for her second season in Verbier. She loves working in the mountains and sharing all the best spots for a hot chocolate. Beth has experience teaching a wide range of ages and abilities and can help tailor a lesson for your personal skiing goals, whether that’s learning from scratch or advancing technically.

What makes you special as an instructor?

I really believe in the importance of building self-confidence and helping clients to achieve what they are capable of. Stepping out of your comfort zone is never easy and so it’s important to have a balance between learning new skills and enjoying the piste!

What do you do in the summer?

In summer I like to surf at home in Ireland, I like to climb and go biking and spend time with my dog.

Do you want to learn a backflip?

Philipp has been passionate about snowboarding since growing up in the Swiss Alps. With over 10 years of experience as a freestyle snowboard coach and a background as a lower secondary teacher, he combines his love for snowboarding with a focus on fun and skill development. While a backflip may take time, Philipp will teach easy freestyle tricks and guarantee a fun, rewarding experience.

What do you do in the summers?

I enjoy being active outdoors, whether it’s hiking, climbing, skateboarding, swimming, mountain biking, or simply spending time with friends.

 

Hugo was born and grew up here in Verbier and has been skiing the slopes here since he first put on skis at the age of 2. Fluent in French and English, he knows every bump and corner of the resort. As a child, Hugo was in the local race club, and then spent a season as the ES Penguin mascot, before qualifying as a ski instructor. Hugo specialises in teaching children and helping them love skiing as much as he does.  This is his second season instructing with ES.
