Lukas is from Sweden, and this is his sixth year teaching on skis. After teaching on his local slope in Stockholm, he spent his first season in Verbier in 2022-2023. He is a nice and friendly guy who enjoys teaching anyone, of any age, that is eager to learn on skis. Lukas knows how to teach newer skiers through their first turns, and more skilled skiers to advance further in more demanding slopes.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
Skiing is something that has always been present through my life. After skiing in the local ski club for seven years it was an obvious choice for me to become an instructor to spread that excitement and joy that I get from skiing every time I’m on the slopes.
What makes you special as an instructor?
I believe my patience but also my joy for skiing is something that makes me special as an instructor. Skiing should always be fun, and making sure that the people around me feel like it’s fun is always my number one priority.
What do you do in the summers?
I usually spend my summers at my summer house in the southern part of Sweden. You would probably find me on the golf course, the tennis court or on a surfboard among the waves.
Where is your favourite part of your resort to ski/ride?
I feel like Lac De Vaux is somewhere I have tons of fun. No matter if I’m looking for new side hits or going to practicing my technique, I seem to get the most out of that area.
What is your favourite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Verbier?
My favourite restaurant in Verbier is probably le Carrefour. Having fantastic food and then being close to the village for a longer stay is great. But also the option to go for more runs is a super nice aspect about it.
Why did you choose Verbier?
For some reason I always had a dream of going to work as a ski instructor in Verbier. At the age of 9 me and my skiing friend Brita decided that we were going to finish high school and then go straight to Verbier to teach skiing, so we did!
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Verbier?
Don’t miss out on going to the top of Mont Fort, even if you have to take the gondola back down again. It is simply the best view there is, but it might be best to do on a sunny day.
