Sarah Norton and Harry Moxon have many years of experience teaching a number of different sports, including skiing and quad biking. Whether they’re on water or snow, craggy highland or rock walls, these two are at home.
As spring turns to summer Harry and Sarah leave the Swiss alps and head to the Scottish highlands to make the most of the most of the warmer months. Among their many other skills, they are experienced quad bike trek leaders and are currently helping out at Sarah’s family quad bike trekking business based in the Highland village of Aviemore.
Whatever the weather quad bike trekking is the activity of choice in the Cairngorms National Park. Sarah and Harry are part of a team of fully trained, professional guides who lead the treks. The routes are carefully selected to provide varied terrain, while at the same time taking in spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. In fact the Rothiemurchus centre gives access to several thousand acres of forest and open moorland, meaning there’s no shortage of space to explore.
Visitors can expect treks through the Caledonian pine woodland and plantations and out across the heather moorland which in late summer provides a “glorious carpet blazoned in purple”. Sightings of the estate’s herd of long horned Highland Cows are also on the cards, as well as chances of seeing wild deer and other local wildlife.
Apart from spending their days off mountain biking, hiking and paddle boarding around the Scottish lochs, their main challenge this summer is converting a camper van.
The project is well underway and come September Harry and Sarah will be hitting the road to seek out the waves and adventure around Europe.
During winter Sarah is actively involved in training the ES academy and team. She is a former FIS ski racer and ex-British team athlete and holds her ISTD badge.
Harry is an international ski/freestyle instructor and enjoys working with anyone from complete beginners to high level shredders who want to shred the park!
