Neill is an encouraging skier who loves being part of the mini victories his guests achieve when skiing with him. From conquering the famous snow plough on their own to a top to bottom mogul run. Neill will get equally excited and strive to develop anyone’s skiing further.
I have always enjoyed coaching and learning new skills so I decided to get qualified! I haven’t looked back since!
For a relaxing break and great food, Blue Lounge is top of my list.
In Zermatt my favourite place to go for a slide is the Schwarzsee area…although Furggsattel on a clear blue sky day is hard to beat. This question is too hard, next please.
I change what I do most summers, from roofing work to working in an opticians.
We’re very high here and when it gets cold it can get very cold! There is no replacement for layered clothing, specific ski socks and ski gloves.
There are many resorts but none quite like this one, Zermatt has a super comfortable vibe, great skiing, great food and a mountain that has been photographed more times than a new born baby.
Max is one of our few Swedish instructors that we have in Zermatt. You will find him all over the mountain along the winter and spring but mostly in the snowpark when the snow conditions call for it.
Max is a person full of energy that is open to challenge himself when ever possible and to push others outside of their comfort zone. He is a strong believer in “Happyfeet = Happyski”
I chose to teach skiing because it is my favourite hobby and I am so lucky to have been able to study it in college and to work with ski instructing just like my mom. She was my first ski instructor.
During the summer I work in contact with people, whether it is in a sport-shop or as an activity leader for kids. I also go back to the Swiss Army to complete my service.
In Verbier it has to be Tortin because I do love my mogul skiing and in Zermatt it has to be The Top of Rothorn to Gant, then all the way down to Cervo via National.
Findlerhof hands down. Lammhaxe is love, Lammhaxe is life.
I wanted to come back after having an amazing last season and not wanting to return to Sweden (although I could have). The long amazing slopes, the amazing people and the amazing town.
Ski every day, even if it isn’t sunny, after a couple of runs, go to Cervo and enjoy the truffle fries. It never goes wrong.
Martina has always smile at her face, that is how you recognise her! Her passion for skiing and snowboarding is endless and very catchy. So be sure that after spending a while with her you will enjoy your time on snow more than before. She has experience in ski teaching from different places around the world such as Austria, Italy or Chile.
Chloe Nicholls is the Co-Director here in Zermatt. She has been skiing from a young age and first learned on holiday with her family. She has many happy memories of skiing with her family and hopes to help others make happy memories of their own in Zermatt.
After graduating from University, Chloe followed her passion for skiing and being in the mountains and trained as a ski instructor. Chloe has taught in the UK, Italy and Australia, and has been in Zermatt for the past 8 winters. She knows all of the best slopes in Zermatt and Cervinia, and all of the extras to make your holiday special.
I chose to teach skiing because I love skiing and being in the mountains. I grew up in the mountains both in winter and summer, skiing, cycling and hiking. I love being able to share my passion with others and watch them progress and fall in love with the sport. Once you start skiing you will love it forever.
For four years I travelled between Zermatt and Mt Buller Resort in Australia, chasing the winters in each hemisphere. For the past four years I have lived in Zermatt year-round, which I love. Summer in Zermatt is almost as amazing as winter – I spend my days hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, climbing, and much more. I would highly recommend a trip to Zermatt in the summer as well as winter.
Zermatt is a very special ski resort that takes everyone’s breath away. The skiing is fantastic, the scenery is mesmerising, the village is beautiful and the whole resort has a magical charm. The weather in Zermatt is brilliant, and there are plenty of amazing restaurants, bars and spas to relax in after a day’s skiing. To top it off, we have the Matterhorn, and even after 8 years I can still never have enough photos of it.
John is one of the Co-Director’s of European Snowsport Zermatt and is fully certified in both the Swiss (Brevet Fédéral) and British (BASI 4 ISTD) ski instructor systems. This is John’s eleventh season in Zermatt. He’s been an active person from a young age, enjoying most sports but particularly skiing and football. This led to him becoming a ski instructor and football coach.
He learned to ski when he was 4 and since then has skied all over Europe and Australia, switching between Zermatt and Mount Buller in Australia. John now teaches all year round in Zermatt.
I chose to teach skiing because I wanted an outdoor career and to share my passion for the sport. I like seeing others improve and begin to really enjoy themselves while skiing.
My favourite place to ski is on the Sunnegga side. My two favourite runs are here (9 Tuftern and 8 Obere National) and a lot of the best restaurants in Zermatt are here too. With the funicular train being on this side, there is the added bonus of it being quick and easy to get straight up onto the slopes!
My favourite restaurant is Blatten. The food is exceptional and the views on the mountain are incredible too. In town my favourite is Schäferstube, they do a great fondue!
I chose Zermatt as it is widely regarded one of the best ski resorts in the world. It is also very hard to ignore the draw of skiing under the Matterhorn.
It’s best to always book restaurants well in advance as they can be booked up from early on in the season. Finally, if you’re walking through town, watch out for the electric taxis as you don’t always hear them coming!
