Hola! My name is Sergio and I’ve been involved in skiing my whole life all around the world. Adapting my experience to every place and person I meet, makes every day a new story. That is what motivates me to give my best energy and attitude, building the confidence to improve technically and have fun at the same time.

Fun fact: my friends call me “Piña”

Toby learned to ski at the age of four and has never stopped exploring the mountains. He enjoys spending time outdoors all year round — from winter skiing to summer adventures such as hiking, canoeing, open-water swimming and bike touring. He has a strong passion for both alpine and cross-country skiing in Sweden, where he lives and works as a ski school manager at Stockholm’s largest ski resort. During peak winter weeks, Toby also teaches in other destinations, most often in Switzerland among the most beautiful mountains of the Alps.

Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
I’ve been skiing since age three and teaching since 2003. Sharing great ski days with guests -often their best days of the year- is a privilege. Skiing runs in the family: my father was a ski coach, and my daughter is now also an instructor. It’s truly a lifelong passion.

What makes you special as an instructor?
As a CARV Pro Demo Member and early adopter, I provide cutting-edge coaching with video analysis, movement insights and CARV-sensor feedback. Guests can borrow my CARV1 and CARV2 demo units for motivating, data-driven progression. Expect personalised guidance, clear technical improvement and a modern high-tech ski experience

What do you do in the summers?
Outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, open-water swimming, golf, cycling, camping and discovering new adventures with family and friends. I also have a passion for good food, barbecue and outdoor cooking over open fire.

Where is your favorite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
I love the red slopes and nearby off-piste areas around the Furggsattel chairlift — usually cold, dry snow and playful.

What is your favorite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Zermatt?
I’m a true ski-and-eat foodie, and Zermatt/Cervinia is full of favourites. On the Italian side, Ullas (Chalet Etoile) and Love are must-visits. In Zermatt, an afternoon at Chez Vrony or Alphitta’s terrace is hard to beat- and ending the day at Cervo Après-ski is a privilege.

What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Zermatt?
Always take the opportunity to cross over to Italy and enjoy Cervinia!

Eva-Lena previously worked as a physical education teacher in Sweden. She enjoys outdoor activities, and skiing is one of her favourite sports. She has also worked for a ski school at Romme Alpin in Stockholm during the winter season. In the summer, she enjoys kayaking.

What makes you special as an instructor?
I like to take each lesson step by step so that everyone feels safe and comfortable. I listen to my clients’ goals and we create a plan together. A positive mindset is very important, as well as having fun while learning. I enjoy meeting new people and delivering personalised, engaging lessons.
