Matilda is a happy and outgoing person who grew up on the slopes, competing in both alpine and mogul skiing. She spent last season in Zermatt and, with her experience in both disciplines and local knowledge, is well equipped to help you improve your carving and explore the mountain.
For Matilda, combining skiing with exceptional mountain views while helping her students develop is a dream come true. Outside the mountains, she enjoys sailing and surfing. It is safe to say she feels at home wherever there is water- whether frozen or in liquid form.
Why did you choose to teach snowsport?
I want to share my love of skiing and hopefully inspire others to enjoy it even more. In my lessons, I aim for people to feel happy and to leave with the sense that they have improved.
What makes you special as an instructor?
My background in competitive skiing has given me strong technical skills. At the same time, I am a positive and enthusiastic person who focuses on making sure every client has the best possible experience.
What do you do in the summers?
I work as the head instructor at a sailing school. I also spend time travelling, surfing, and being with friends and family.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
I enjoy carving down the red pistes, challenging myself in the moguls, and skiing on the glacier.
What is your favourite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Zermatt?
I really like Cervo. For clients at different levels or when skiing around Rothorn, I also enjoy Chez Vrony and Riffelalp.
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Zermatt?
Take the time to visit the many excellent restaurants, and book a ski tour of the mountain to experience the best views.
