Getting to Haute-Nendaz

By Road
Take the A9/E62 highway to Sion, and then take the Sion-Ouest exit towards Nendaz. Then it’s just a short drive up the mountain to Nendaz, through Basse-Nendaz, and up to Haute-Nendaz.

By Train
Trains run frequently from Geneva to Sion; there are two per hour. Train times and connections can be found on the website www.sbb.ch/home.html
By Air
Geneva international airport is the closest airport for regular commercial flights. Most UK and European airports fly regularly throughout the season into and from Geneva.

Transfers
If you are travelling from Geneva airport to Haute-Nendaz you can take the train, then a bus or taxi. Alternatively if you want to hire a car you can do so from the Swiss side of Geneva Airport.

Resort Buses
Resort and local area buses are run by Car Postal, further information can be found at www.carpostal.ch
During the winter season, there are regular shuttle buses (‘navettes’) that run throughout the day, which can take your around the village, to the main Tracouet télécabine, and to the neighbouring villages and ski areas such as Siviez, and Veysonnaz. There are bus stops all around town with more information about the buses. Schedules and maps are available in the tourism office.
Where to eat
There are plenty of culinary options in Nendaz, from local dishes, to more international cuisines. Try the Swiss specialities of raclette, fondue, and charcuterie with a wine from the valley for a traditional experience. There are also fantastic burgers available, which can be washed down with locally brewed beers. There are many gastronomic options in Nendaz, here are a few of our favourites. La Cabane
Traditional dishes combined with an extensive wine list, makes for a fantastic evening. The restaurant is in a beautiful chalet with a cosy alpine décor.

Edelweiss
This hotel, restaurant, and bar located in the heart of the village across from the Tracouet télécabine is a must. Come for a hearty lunch on the sun-drenched terrace and enjoy the view of the mountain, or enjoy the international menu in the cosy restaurant. The burgers are a local classic.

Carnotzet L’Aigle
This cosy alpine restaurant in the four-star Hôtel Nendaz 4 Vallées & Spa has a traditional menu of local dishes. Come sit by the wood fire, and enjoy the rustic atmosphere while relishing the raclette, and the assiette valaisanne.

Restaurant Les Etagnes
Come enjoy the warm atmosphere at this piste-side Hotel-Restaurant. The ski-in, ski-out location makes it a must for lunch. Try the menu du jour for a taste of the international cuisine on offer. At night, the restaurant offers a rich, and exciting menu complete with a diverse and expertly crafted wine list.

Taverne de l’Alpée
The friendly atmosphere combined with a fantastic view of the valley makes for a fantastic restaurant experience. They offer numerous fondues, and the grill dishes are a carnivore’s dream. Finish up with one of their homemade crêpes.

Le Raccard
The terrace is a veritable sunspot, and so attracts the locals at lunchtime. Inside, there’s a fantastic wood-burning fire, and cosy tables. Enjoy the various fondues as well as the traditional raclette for a truly luxurious evening.

Espresso2go
For a luxurious lunch, enjoy the sunny terrace, and the fantastic burgers. Finish up with crêpes, and the best coffee Nendaz has to offer. Alternatively, come at apéro time for a drink in the warm convivial atmosphere.
Chez Odette
If you’re around Siviez, then check out Chez Odette for a relaxed meal with a fantastic view of the mountains. Another sunspot, this restaurant offers rich local dishes, as well as stone-baked pizzas, and juicy burgers. It does not disappoint. Make sure to book as it gets busy at lunchtime!

For the kids
Playgrounds
The Plaine des Ecluses in the centre of town has a large playground to entertain kids after a day on the mountain. There is also a play area on the mountain near Tracouet.
Trampolines
Just by European Snowsports in the centre of town are some giant trampolines with harnesses especially for the kids. Need we say more!
Spa
The Spa des Bisses of the four-star Hôtel Nendaz 4 Vallées has a kid’s zone so you can relax, while they play.
Sledging
Tortin, the 3km-long sledge run in Siviez offers hours of fun for kids, and adults alike. Free snowtubing is also available in Nendaz by the Tracouet lake. You can grab snacks and drinks at the Lake Bar, while kids enjoy the fun and games.
Snowshoeing
There is an extensive network of snowshoeing trails around Nendaz, and Siviez. Grab some shoes, and enjoy the tranquillity of the local landscapes. You can also hire a guide to show you around the stunning local flora and fauna.
Moonlight Skiing

Ice-skating
If you still have energy after a day on the slopes, or you’re looking for an alternative activity during the day, then check out the local ice-skating rink. It is open late during the winter, and there are numerous events such as ice-discos. Check out the Nendaz Tourism website for the full programme.
Grown Ups
Spa des Bisses, Hôtel Nendaz 4 Vallées
Relax and recharge in the Spa des Bisses with a fantastic pool-side view of the mountains. With two terraces, Jacuzzis, grottoes, numerous saunas, and swimming pools, the spa has everything for a day-off, or for after a long day on the slopes. Out on the town
After a long day on the hill, nothing is better than strolling round Nendaz village, enjoying the shops, and perhaps indulging at apéro time. Here are our top spots for Nendaz après-ski, and nightlife.
Cheers Bar, Les Etagnes
This piste-side après-ski joint is a must during your holiday to Nendaz. Come enjoy the lively atmosphere, the music, and the bar snacks. The classic Dutch bitterballen are not to be missed.
Edelweiss Après-Ski bar
The central location of Edelweiss après-ski bar means you can settle down for a drink after a long day on the slopes in either the cosy in-doors bar, or the outdoors terrace with blankets. There is regular live music, and visiting DJs so come for the fantastic music selection.
Cave à Lait
This sophisticated bar offers an extensive wine list, and locally made cheese. Come along for a relaxing evening with a planche of cheese or charcuterie, and a drink.

With locally-brewed beers, a warm terrace, and a buzzing bar area, 3330 is a fantastic way to chat and relax after a long day. If you’re feeling hungry, then grab one of the tasty burgers.
Le Verre d’Ici
If you’re a budding oenologist, then head to Le Verre d’Ici to sample their carefully chosen wines. They have more than 300 on the menu including 30 from Switzerland.
Piano Bar, Hôtel de Nendaz 4 Vallées
If you’re looking for cocktails and a cosy atmosphere then come to the Piano Bar. Located in the Hôtel de Nendaz 4 Vallées, you can move on to the Carnotzet L’Aigle restaurant for dinner.
7A Bar
Come to the cosy 7A bar for a night of tapas, wine, and cocktails in the centre of Nendaz village.
Piste-side après-ski
La Tétine
Located just off the main Tortin piste in Siviez, come for a sun-soaked lunch during the day, or swing by for a drink after a day on the mountain.
Le Bob
On the way down the mountain back to Nendaz, stop by Le Bob for a drink, and watch the sun set with a fantastic view down the valley.
Later on in the night…
Nyx
Come party until the early hours in the premier nightclub of Nendaz. With a wide menu of beers and cocktails, and a chalet-themed interior, it is a truly alpine nightlife experience.
