John Pettersen

John started skiing at the age of seven when his aunt gave him her old skis. The size-wise completely disproportionate equipment didn’t stop him from walking up every hill in the neighbourhood to enjoy skiing. This new passion dominated after school activities and eventually led to participation in regional alpine racing. Curiosity later made him venture over to Freestyle skiing, which are the three disciplines, Moguls, ski ballet and jumping. From there it was a short leap over to “Ski Extreme” which in those days simply was hike up the mountain and ski down as steep as possible terrain.

After his first trip to Chamonix at age 18, John has been travelling countless times to the alps solely to ski! Most of his professional career has been in travel/hospitality and he is now a part of Bramble Ski´s team of Bramble Ski Pro´s.

John has been working 11 winter seasons in the alps, the last 8 in Verbier. He has a lot of patience with his clients and find that they really appreciate when he provides them a greater understanding of skiing rather than having a purely technique lesson. His calm persona and experience are great for clients who are a bit insecure and needs to build up confidenc

John’s clients say:“I just wanted to thank you for looking after Henry and Elizabeth last week. They really enjoyed themselves and both made good progress especially Henry who was following me down the little bumps under the 4 man chair at Savoleyres after his 4th day of lessons – John was brilliant with him!”

John was fantastic with the twins – they loved the snow park and the fun with the balloons and the hot chocolate stops! Thoroughly recommended, really nice guy and great with the kids.
