I started skiing at the age of seven when my aunt gave me her old skis. The size-wise completely disproportionate equipment didn’t stop me from walking up every hill in the neighbourhood to enjoy skiing. This new passion dominated after school activities and eventually led to participation in regional alpine racing. Curiosity later made me venture over to Freestyle skiing, which are the three disciplines, Moguls, ski ballet and jumping. From there it was a short leap over to “Ski Extreme” which in those days simply was hike up the mountain and ski down as steep as possible terrain.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
After my first trip to Chamonix at age 18, I have been travelling countless times to the alps solely to ski! Most of my professional career has been in travel/hospitality and I am now part of Bramble Ski´s team of Bramble Ski Pro´s.
What makes you special as an instructor?
I have a lot of patience with my clients and find that they really appreciate when I provide them a greater understanding of skiing rather than having a purely technique lesson. My calm persona and experience are great for clients who are insecure and need to build up confidence.
Where is your favourite part of your resort to ski/ride?
Bruson on a very snowy powder day!!
What is your favorite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Verbier?
It’s hard to pick a bad restaurant in Verbier. My favourite depends solely on what “food mood” I am in.
Carrefour & Dahu do stand out though.
Why did you choose Verbier?
I came here on a ski holiday and never looked back!
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Verbier?
After a snowfall, buy the “early bird” access pass. You will get some great runs in on freshly groomed pistes!

John was fantastic with the twins – they loved the snow park and the fun with the balloons and the hot chocolate stops! Thoroughly recommended, really nice guy and great with the kids.
