Oscar has always loved the outdoors. This passion brought him to Tignes, nestled in the French alps where as a chalet host he experienced his first ski season. However, while here in Verbier during his second season in 2016 he trained as an instructor and like many others became hooked and hasn’t left since. Oscar loves sharing his passion for the outdoors and sport. Having previously been a sailing instructor, he believes that anyone, no matter their background or ability level, can learn new skills and find fun in any activity – particularly on the slopes. On a day off, you’ll find Oscar touring the slopes with his buddies (especially if there’s fresh powder).

I’m in my early 30’s with CMT that has strongly affected my legs. I’ve never skied before but Oscar helped me every step of the way to figure out how we could make skiing work for me. We used outriggers to help me stay upright while walking around the mountain, and to give me extra support in the skis as well. When I first arrived at Verbier and put on my ski boots I fell almost immediately and I was pretty certain I should just give up. But Oscar really went out of his way to find any way to help, even meeting me at my hotel and the ski shop to help me move my ski equipment and staying past his scheduled time to make sure I had any support I needed. By the end of the fourth day with Oscar I had gone from barely standing to beginning to make parallel turns. I’m permanently grateful for his help and I’m sure anyone else who works with him will be too.

Oscar worked with our 9 year old son who is autistic. He has such a calm and reassuring approach and the confidence he built was absolutely amazing to see. Oscar absolutely went at the right pace and very quickly connected with our son on his level building trust between them very quickly. The progress our son made was phenomenal, massive thank you indeed.
