My name is Loay and I’m a passionate snowboarder. I’m a huge enthusiast who finds joy in riding big powder lines deep in the untouched backcountry and embracing the challenge of navigating through moguls. The feeling of a deep aggressive carve on a perfectly groomed slope is indescribable even if it means occasionally losing grip due to my very long feet.
Zermatt holds a special place in my heart for its breathtaking scenery, particularly the iconic Matterhorn, which never fails to awe. Climbing the Matterhorn ranks high on my bucket list. My favourite slope is the black national early in the morning preferably after a fresh snowfall over night.
When I’m not up on the mountain you’ll likely find me deeply immersed in some mathematical theory as I pursue a PhD in Mathematics at the technical university in Berlin. With four years of teaching experience at the university and three years as a tennis coach, I bring a lot of teaching experience.
In my free time I love learning languages. I’m fluent in German, English, French, Arabic, and Turkish, and currently, I’m brushing up on my Spanish and Portuguese. I’ve been playing tennis for more than 18 years and played basketball for 15 years. Last year I did my first IronMan 70.3 and I’m now training for a full IronMan.
