Stef was born and raised on the flat terrain of Holland but that didn’t stop him from seeking out and exploring the mountains. Stef would originally only go to the snow for one week per year but eventually, after spending a whole season in Revelstoke, Canada he got hooked by the allure of the ski industry for good. As a BASI certified instructor Stef is a passionate instructor, more than capable of bringing your skiing to the next level. For him, teaching is about having the right balance between learning and having as much fun as possible.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
I love skiing and sharing my knowledge and passion with others, while being outside all day in the mountains.
What makes you special as an instructor?
No matter the conditions, I’ll build up a lesson tailored to your needs, whilst keeping a fun and informal environment.
What do you do in the summers?
During the summer when not teaching skiing, Stef works Harlem Kitesurfing, an up-and-coming kiteboarding brand.
Where is your favourite part of your resort to ski/ride?
Moguls on the top, and a freshly groomed bottom part of M25.
What is your favorite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Verbier?
Aiseki, sushi in town.
Why did you choose Verbier?
I came here for the ski terrain, and the endless possibilities to keep improving my skiing. I keep coming back for great community here.
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Verbier?
Take a lesson. Haha 🙂 Not for me, but it truly helps to fully enjoy your holiday. No worries about timing, where to go, which restaurants to eat at, etc. A direct link to the local knowledge from day one is a game changer.
