Selma is a ski instructor from Iceland, bringing energy, warmth, and a strong passion for the mountains to every lesson. This is her first season as an instructor, but she comes with a solid background as a former ski racer, giving her excellent technical understanding. Selma is especially great with kids—always happy, patient, and encouraging—making learning to ski fun, safe, and confidence-building for skiers of all ages.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
I chose to teach snowsports because skiing has been a big part of my life, and I love sharing that passion with others. I enjoy helping students build confidence, have fun, and feel proud of their progress on the snow.
What makes you special as an instructor?
What makes me special as an instructor is my positive energy, patience, and ability to make learning fun. I create a safe, encouraging environment where students feel confident and supported. I bring fresh motivation and genuinely enjoy helping each person progress on the snow.
What do you do in the summers?
In the summers I travel a lot, both around Iceland and around the world. I also work in an elderly home, where I get to put a smile on peoples faces everyday.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
I love skiing down all the way from the top of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Italy is also a fun bonus!
Why did you choose Zermatt?
I chose Zermatt because of its beautiful mountains, reliable snow, and strong ski culture. The area has an inspiring atmosphere and amazing terrain, making it the perfect place to grow as an instructor and as a skier.
