Selma is a ski instructor from Iceland. She brings energy, warmth and a strong passion for the mountains to every lesson. This is her first season as an instructor, but she comes with a solid background as a former ski racer. This gives her an excellent understanding of technique.
Selma is especially great with kids. She is always happy, patient, and encouraging. She makes learning to ski fun, safe, and confidence-building for skiers of all ages.
Why did you choose to teach snowsport?
Skiing has always been a big part of my life. I love sharing my passion with others and I enjoy helping students to build confidence, have fun and feel proud of their progress on the snow.
What makes you special as an instructor?
I bring positive energy, patience and a fun approach to every lesson. I create a safe and encouraging environment. My goal is to help every student feel confident and supported. I truly enjoy helping each person improve.
What do you do in the summers?
In the summer, I travel a lot, both around Iceland and abroad. I also work in an elderly home, where I help put a smile on people’s faces everyday.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
I love skiing down all the way from the top of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Crossing into Italy is also a fun bonus!

I chose Zermatt because of its beautiful mountains, reliable snow, and strong ski culture. The atmosphere is inspiring and the terrain is amazing. It is the perfect place to grow both as an instructor and a skier.
