Mattia is an incredibly passionate skier with a huge love for the mountains. Originally from Italy and with a background founded in racing, Mattia’s love of skiing has led him across the globe. He has taught and toured in countries such as New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland and Scotland. Mattia is dedicated to providing his clients with the best holiday they could have here in Verbier, full to the brim with a mix of fun on the slopes as well as a few challenges along the way.

Mattia is my favourite Verbier ski instructor ! He is professional, very dedicated to actually helping you ski safely and enjoyably rather than going through the motions. He has really helped me work through bad skiing habits and learn about the mountain . He is also a lot of fun !

Mattia took charge of our two kids for three weeks spaced over two visits. Their progress has been phenomenal – both were competent before but now capable of doing much, much more with improved technique, confidence and speed. As a parent he has communicated exceptionally well with us and from the children’s point of view he was enormous fun. Looking forward to next year !

I spent 3 hours skiing with Mattia, and I would highly recommend him as an instructor. He is full of enthusiasm and energy, and is very passionate about skiing. He has the ability to push you out of your comfort zone, but in such a way that you’re comfortable doing it. The end result is massive improvement in confidence and ability!

Mattia made our two vacations in Verbier wonderful. He brings joy to skiing, and personalises his approach to each individual skier’s needs and abilities and goals for the day. He has boundless energy and a very strong work ethic. He met with us before his 10 days with us to get to know us. Each morning, he planned out the following day based on our wishes and ski conditions. He guided us on where to eat lunch each day. He found ways even when it rained to make the most of the time. For example, he showed us, and in particular, our son, all the avalanche tools skiers use and how they work. He taught him ways to be careful and our son listened. He taught our son the importance of being safe in the slopes and ski ballet. Since my son wants to race, Mattia worked his magic and was persistent in securing race training areas in the resort for our son and handled all of the details, making it all so simple and clear for us to proceed and our son benediftted greatly. I referred him to another family who cannot thank me enough because he was so positive for them during their weekend in Verbier. When our first vacation with our whole family in Verbier ended, my kids all said each day how they missed Mattia. My husband and I shared their sentiment. We still keep in touch! Mattia is a special person!

This was the second time this year we have asked for Mattias to teach our kids. He has taken them from good skiers to all round confident and exceptional al skiers on all terrains, gradients and types of snow. He has given them the confidence to choose their line, know what they are capable of and then just push them that tiny bit more to fulfil their potential. Bring on 2023.
