Why did you choose to teach snowsport?
I love skiing and snowboarding, and I truly believe that gliding on snow, exploring the mountains, and experiencing breathtaking landscapes are among life’s greatest joys. I chose to teach because I want to share this passion with everyone I meet.
What makes you special as an instructor?
Having coached five different sports across three continents and guided ski and snowboard groups in various resorts, I am able to adapt quickly to each individual’s needs. My personalised approach helps you master new techniques, enjoy your time on snow, and make the most of your experience in Zermatt.
What do you do in the summers?
In summer, I teach wind-based watersports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wingfoiling. In my free time, I enjoy long-distance kitefoil and wingfoil trips, rock climbing, photography, and connecting with people while enjoying sunrises and sunsets.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
Every part of the resort has its own unique character. I especially enjoy the glacier area for its exceptional snow conditions and stunning views, as well as the Italian side for its wide, flowing slopes.
Why did you choose Zermatt?
Zermatt feels like a magical, welcoming place where travellers from all over the world come together. Its pristine slopes, breathtaking scenery, and sunny weather offer endless adventure, while the cafés, bars, and spas provide perfect après-ski relaxation. The seamless connection to Cervinia in Italy—my second home—makes it even more special.
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Zermatt?
Use your time here to fully disconnect from everyday life. You are in a unique village surrounded by endless mountains, snow, and skiing. You are on holiday—make the most of it.

Diego is a kind and highly professional coach. What stands out most is his patience in teaching and his confidence in the training methods he delivers.
As a family, we were all truly grateful for his attention to every detail.
We genuinely enjoyed the training period, despite its short duration, and found it both effective and rewarding.

Diego was an amazing instructor who totally elevated our trip to Zermatt! We were both complete beginners and therefore apprehensive. But Diego fills you with total confidence, explains all the concepts and techniques in a way that’s easy to grasp, and he’s also just a really nice guy to be around on the slopes! Would highly recommend him as an instructor or guide for anyone. Thank you Diego.

We had an amazing time skiing with Diego. He makes everything look effortless and gave us great coaching to improve our skills while making sure we had fun on the mountain. He knows the Zermatt and Cervinia area like the back of his hand, guiding us to the best runs and views. After two days, we felt more confident on the slopes and left with plenty of great memories. He even went out of his way to make lunch reservations which we really appreciated—and his wine recommendations were the cherry on top! Skiing with him felt more like being guided by a friend than just an instructor. Highly recommend!

Amazing instructor! Diego was not only an excellent teacher who personalised our full day ski lesson for us, he was also very patient and attentive to what each of us needed to focus on or fix to improve our technique. He gave us lots of encouragement even when we kept falling or making mistakes, and kept pushing us to the next level while still keeping it fun and exciting!
Diego, thank you so much for the day out – we really enjoyed learning from you 🙂
