LUNCH AND APRES SKI TIPS

It will be Chez Dany or Chalet D’Adrien’s terrace!! My go to order would be the lobster pasta at Chalet D’Adrien. – Helena
I really love to have Le-Dahu pizza at Le Dahu. – Mattia
Definitely Chez Dany, the perfect Swiss hut for lunch. I suggest the Skagen for starters, croute as the main and then ending it off with the best tiramisu in the 4 Valleys. – Jonatan
We didn’t forget the Après Ski!
Either a drink on the terrace at Lumi or dancing at Farinet ápres. Something from the band Jungle will get me up on the dance floor. – Helena
The Biblioteque in Verbier has a beautiful view towards the south. The song of nature is what gets me dancing. – Mattia
I have a big love for the crazy après ski at Le Farinet; live band, good friends and beers. Nothing else you could ask for really! – Jonatan
MEMORIES TO TAKE HOME
We want to personalize your skiing experience, leaving you with special memories. We asked Mattia and Jonatan if they could tell us a memorable story from the mountain.
”I think it was 3 years ago, me and my friend wanted to see how many time we were able to do Tortin in one day. Tortin is a yellow itinerary from the top of Lac 2. It’s a long steep run with big moguls from top to bottom. I can’t remember exactly, but I think we did it 23 or 27 times that day. Our legs were shaking and we couldn’t walk properly the following day…haha”. – Mattia
“My favourite memories are all the good powder days with good friends. If I have to choose one of them it would be one of the first times I went up to Mont Gelé. I was snowboarding down one of the front side runs in knee deep powder with some friends and colleagues from ES.” – Jonatan
We want you to have the best time possible in Verbier. We want you to build confidence and have fun while skiing. And most importantly, we want you to be safe when you are up the mountain!
“My favorite part about instructing is that I get to pass on my big passion for skiing to other people. I like teaching them different techniques, games and exercises to give them the feeling of being safe and comfortable in the snow. I want to make the experience fun, exciting and, for those who want a little bit more, challenging as well.” – Helena
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: JONATAN, HELENA and MATTIA

How did your passion for skiing begin, and how did you come to Verbier?
My passion for skiing started pretty early when my parents took me to the snowy mountains of Sweden to go skiing. I fell in love with it immediately and from there on I was the one that was looking more forward to the yearly ski vacation rather than the summer vacation to Greece. I always have had an eye for Switzerland as my grandpa is Swiss, and I thought why not go to the place where everybody’s freeride dreams come true.
If you could design your ideal ski day itinerary in Verbier, what would it include from start to finish?
It would start early doing some newly pisted runs of the M25 to get the blood going. Then taking the gondola up to the top of Mont Gelé to enjoy the fresh snow of the itinerary run down to La Chaux, quick break at the Cabana Mont Fort to regain some energy. Hit the park for a lap or two and then end it off with a late lunch at either Carrefour or Chez Dany to then go down to the village for après.
Your favourite place to ski in Verbier on days off?
On a snowy day I love to take the gondola down to Le Chable and up to Bruson to enjoy all the new snow in all the different tree runs Bruson offers, the place is also amazing for touring!

How did your passion for skiing begin, and how did you come to Verbier?
I started skiing when I was only 3 years old, and since that I’ve just loved the feeling of freedom you get when you look over the mountains and ski down the never-ending opportunities of pistes. I came a lot to Verbier with my family when I was younger so Verbier just has a special place in my heart!
If you could design your ideal ski day itinerary in Verbier, what would it include from start to finish?
My ideal ski day would start with a big cup of coffee. Then I’ll meet up with my friends for a sunny powder day and ski until our legs are about to fall off! And then at the end finish up with a cold drink in the sun somewhere.
Your favourite place to ski in Verbier on days off?
Everything about Verbier is my favorite, but if I must choose one place to ride for the rest of the season it would definitely be around La Chaux and up to Mont Fort. Here you also do get the most amazing views.
One last top tip for Verbier; We suggest booking your lessons well in advance. This way you will get the widest range of possible instructors. If you let us know what you are looking for, we will be able to match you with the perfect instructor.

How did your passion for skiing begin, and how did you come to Verbier?
Thanks to my parents my passion for skiing began in the late 80’ and 90’. Alberto Tomba “la Bomba” was spreading his love of skiing along the Italians…and my parents were victims!! I fell in love with skiing and eventually became a ski instructor 🙂
If you could design your ideal ski day itinerary in Verbier, what would it include from start to finish?
I love in a cold clear and quiet January day to warm up in Lac de Vaux. Then go for Chassoure-Tortin, up to Mont Fort down to La-Chaux snow park. Next, back up to Les Attelas and carving down to Medran. Then up and down again til the end of the day.
