Gaston grew up in Patagonia, Argentina, near the Andes Mountains, where he first discovered skiing at the age of 10. More than 20 years later, he remains passionate about the sport, constantly motivated to keep learning and to share his knowledge with others. Skiing has brought him lasting friendships and the opportunity to travel extensively, something he will always be grateful for. Beyond skiing, he enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, visiting the beach, and simply wandering around to discover new corners of a town.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
I chose to teach snowsports during my final year of high school, when I decided to train as a ski instructor. My initial goal was just to work during the winter holidays while studying at university, earn some money and enjoy a free ski pass in ms spare time- a great deal! What I didn’t anticipate, however, was how enjoyable and fulfilling the job would become. Since then, I haven’t been able to stop, and what began as a seasonal plan has grown into my full-time profession.
What do you do in the summers?
I ski and teach snowsports in Argentinian Patagonia.
Why did you choose this resort?
It’s an iconic resort that I always wanted to visit and get to know, and I think the town vibes are a great complement to the good skiing.

Prior comments are spot on. Gaston is the best ski instructor I’ve ever worked with. He is also a great guy and very much enjoyed spending the day with him.
This is my first ski holiday in five years and my technique was badly impacted by the long pause. My first day out here in Zermatt was not encouraging. With Gaston’s excellent observation and communication skills he identified pointed out many of these lapses (I know there are more!) and worked with me to correct them.
I like his style, he is encouraging and effectively reinforces his instruction with repetition of comment and demonstration. Pausing to critique and add further nuance to prior instruction.
Looking forward to his further teachings tomorrow!

Hands down the best ski instructor I have ever met – achieved the impossible by removing my fear of skiing after an accident and improved drastically my technique! Patient and very nice! Highly recommend!
