Matilda is a happy and outgoing person who has grown up in the slopes competing in both alpine and mogul skiing. Last year, Matilda did a season in Zermatt; with her experience in alpine and mogul skiing as well as skiing in Zermatt, she has the experience to teach you to carve better and to show you around the mountain. Seeing exceptional views while helping her students develop, is her dream come true. When Matilda is not in the mountains, she is sailing and surfing. One could say that Matilda is in her element when water is involved- either in frozen or in liquid form.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
I want to share my love for skiing and hopefully inspire others to love skiing even more! From my lessons, I want people to feel happy and leave with the feeling of ’I have improved!’
What makes you special as an instructor?
I have a lot of experience with competing in skiing which has made me a very good technical skier. At the same time, I am an incredibly happy person who sees the client and goes above and beyond to make the client happy!
What do you do in the summers?
I sail a lot at the sailing school where I am the head instructor. During the summer, I also travel, surf and spend time with my friends and family.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
The red tracks where I cruise down carving, or in the moguls where I challenge myself. I also love to ski on the glacier!
What is your favourite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Zermatt?
I really like Cervo. If the clients are at different levels or skiing at Rothorn, I like Chez Vrony and Riffelalp.
What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Zermatt?
Take the time to visit the many, very good restaurants! And of course, book a ski tour of the mountain to see the best views!
