Marc is a qualified instructor with a passion for teaching snowboarding, skiing and telemarking. He has 30 years of teaching and coaching experience gained in the US, UK and Verbier. Whether on the top the Mont Fort or the beginner hill, he enjoys sharing his love of snow sports with people of all ages and abilities.
What makes you special as an instructor?
I believe that snow sports are first and foremost about having fun.
Marc describes his teaching philosophy as holistic, combining body alignment, balance and breathwork to build confidence and ability. He supports his clients to increase their movement efficiency because “less work equals more fun”. He is proud to have coached his students to reach big and small goals, whether making the US snowboard team or skiing moguls for the first time.
What do you do in the summers?
In the summer you will find Marc in Verbier, paragliding and challenging his riding skills on the ever expanding mountain bike trail system. He is also an aspiring surfer despite the shortage of opportunities for this in a land locked country.
What is your favorite part to ski/ride?
Riding powder is Marc’s absolute favorite thing to do; “There is nothing better.”
Why did you choose this resort?
I was introduced to Verbier in 1998, and my mind was blown. This place is so big, with such great terrain and a very fun town. I used to teach at a small mountain in New York but I always knew I would end up in Verbier. This is where my heart is. I got married here, taught my kids to ski and snowboard here, and love sharing my passion and knowledge of this special corner of the world. Come for a ride with me! Let me show you my home and make you a better skier or boarder. I promise you, we will have fun!

Mark is a brilliant instructor! He is knowledgeable, patient, funny with a lot of experience. We were a relatively big group. Mark knew how to approach, understand and give an appropriate remark or suggestion to every one of us. I personally finished a week of skiing for the first time in my life without knee pain! Thank you Mark! We had a great ski vacation with you!

I couldn’t be happier that my originally assigned instructor didn’t show up this morning because it led me to Marc. He is not only a fantastic instructor but also a wonderful person. His gentle and encouraging approach helped me build confidence on the slopes while finding my balance. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic lesson with Mark. It wasn’t the greatest conditions but he was still able to impart so much valuable guidance to bring back my confidence and give me the skills I needed to make some much needed improvement in my skiing. I can’t recommend him enough.

Marc has been absolutely incredible.
I’m 34 years of age and have the physical – as well as mental a battle of trying to learn the art of snowboarding.
Marc really took his time to analyse my technique and understand my goals before making his plan of attack. He really uses impressive strategies of teaching; for me, he tried to get an understanding of my interests/hobbies and used them to form his analogies, as way of communicating his advice. I found this very helpful and relatable.
He continuously checks in on how I was doing – and regularly making assessments on what is best for my mind and body.
He’s also just a great guy – with a very interesting life. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to develop a strong foundation for skiing/snowboarding – whilst having a very enjoyable time.
Thanks, Marc. Hopefully see you soon again!
