Klara has previously worked as a ski instructor in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. She loves to share her passion for skiing and enjoys teaching all ages and abilities. In addition to skiing, she enjoys trying her hand at snowboarding and therefore has great understanding of beginners.
Why did you choose to teach snowsports?
Since I was six years old, I have spent all my winter holidays in the alps and enjoyed learning how to ski. It has been a dream of mine to one day give back and teach other children as well as adults to enjoy the winter sports.
What makes you special as an instructor?
I bring a lot of positive energy with me and am always ready to laugh – both in English and German. In my previous seasons I especially liked teaching children, my youngest student was just about two years old.
What do you do in the summers?
In the summer I like to play field hockey with my friends. I love exploring new sports and have recently started bouldering. But mostly I just love to be outside and enjoy nature. This summer I went on my first hut hike tour by myself – it was amazing.
Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
I like to challenge myself on steep slopes, but I also truly enjoy red slopes where I can focus on my technique or just ski fast. In Canada, I really liked the ungroomed slopes and I always look forward to fresh powder.
Why did you choose Zermatt?
I chose Zermatt for the high altitude, guaranteed snow, stunning views (of Matterhorn) and the opportunity to work with international clients in a car-free Swiss village.
