Amelia Masters

Amelia has worked as a ski instructor since 2022, following five years at university. She has a strong passion for the mountains and the outdoors and loves sharing this through skiing.

Amelia is friendly, outgoing, and supportive, and she enjoys helping skiers of all ages and abilities improve. After two seasons in Canada, she has developed the experience to support progression in all areas of skiing. Whether you are looking for a relaxed day on the slopes or a more dynamic and challenging session, Amelia can tailor the experience to suit you.

Why did you choose to teach snowsport? I chose to teach skiing because I love helping people build confidence, whether it is making their first turn or achieving a goal like skiing a black run for the first time. It always makes my day to see the difference I can help create.

What makes you special as an instructor?
My ability to connect with my guests so we can both enjoy a great day on the mountain. I love meeting new people and am genuinely interested in everyone I work with.

What do you do in the summers?
In the summer, I enjoy hiking, running, and climbing. I try to plan as many backcountry hiking trips as possible to spend as much time outdoors as I can. I have also worked as a hiking guide and a raft guide over the past two summers.

Where is your favourite part of Zermatt to ski/ride?
My favourite area is the Italian side for its sunshine and great food.

What is your favorite restaurant/mountain restaurant in Zermatt?
My favourite mountain restaurant is Findlerhof because of its cosy atmosphere and excellent food.

Why did you choose Zermatt?
I chose Zermatt for the opportunity to ski under the iconic Matterhorn and to experience a true European ski season in the Alps.

What top handy tip do you have for anyone visiting Zermatt?
Research where to go and what to do on social media as there is a plethora of super fun activities and places to visit!

Amelia's clients say:
"Our three year old daughter had a great time and learned a lot in her lessons with Amelia this year. Amelia was kind and our daughter was almost immediately comfortable spending time with her and was turning and stopping by the end of the week after never having skied before. Amelia was great with kids and worked through one of the kids having a hard day and needing some rest time. Having our daughter spend the mornings with Amelia also allowed us to spend the morning snowboarding off the bunny hill while our daughter was excited and happy to be with Amelia and other kids."- TripAdvisor, 30 December 2025
