In Verbier, The Lodge represents the height of luxury, comfort and fun.
As you may already know, The Lodge is Richard Branson’s luxury property in Verbier. Nine bedrooms, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, a games room, ever-flowing drinks and the most comfortable sofas in Verbier make The Lodge the mountain hideaway of choice for the man himself. Still sound pretty standard? Don’t forget about the spa, indoor pool, in-house spa therapist and top-level chefs. There’s even an in-house dog.
Yes, indeed, The Lodge has a reputation that precedes it. But did you know The Lodge uses ES exclusively to provide ski and snowboard lessons to its guests?
You might think who cares? Surely I could just get any old ski instructor? But our hand-picked team of Lodge instructors is just a little bit special. And we mean that in a good way. You’ll recognise them by their bright blue ES uniforms, but obviously, that’s not all there is to them. Our Lodge team is highly adaptable, fun, and of course they’re all great at what they do. Whether you want to party all night, sample the best cuisine in Verbier, get up at the crack of dawn and explore the off-piste, learn the basics or perhaps a mixture of everything, the ES Lodge team will provide.
Each team member has a unique skill set, whether it’s confidence building, snowboarding, ski touring, off-piste, skiing with kids or just being downright fun to be around. Plus, each team member is expertly able to tailor his or her skills to what you, the Lodge guest, wants to do.
And it doesn’t just stop at the end of the ski day. The team works closely with The Lodge in-house staff to ensure you have the best ski holiday, on and off the slopes. Whether it’s a small dinner request or planning the ultimate away day, nothing is too much and there’s nothing these teams can’t handle. By constantly communicating and helping each other out, The Lodge and ES are able to provide you with the ultimate Verbier experience, from start ‘til finish.
You might not think it, but being a ski instructor isn’t always easy. We’re constantly battling with changing weather conditions and the past few years have been pretty spectacular! This is where our instructors have really pulled it out the bag. These guys know Verbier inside out, so when the conditions are, let’s say, less than favourable or most of the lifts on the mountain are closed, they know how to keep things interesting.
For example, did you know there’s a bowling alley in Martigny? Or that there are lots of places to go climbing in Verbier when there isn’t any snow? That you can go snow-shoeing when the lifts are shut? Or even that you can fly by helicopter to ski in another resort? Yep, when the weather isn’t playing ball these are just a few examples of what our instructors have done with Lodge guests to keep the good vibes flowing. Not to mention, on top of this, they know all the best restaurants in the Four Valleys and all the best places to eat and drink in Verbier. Our instructors have even taken guests to the far corner of Thyon to visit ex-Lodge chef, Darren, at his spectacular new restaurant, Le Bois Sauvage. And, of course, showed them the best spots to ski along the way.
That’s right, when you in Verbier, The Lodge and ES ensure you end up with more than just a ski instructor. You end up with someone who knows how to show you the best bits of Verbier, on and off the mountain, and someone who can become a friend for life.
